Testimonials
“Coach Lisa Literally taught me how to run. I was trying to play high impact sports for the first time while in middle school. After a little while I experienced terrible pain in my heel and legs. I was running on my heels. Coach Lisa readjusted my form and taught me how to run for distance, speed and impact that my body could manage, pain free. While working with Lisa she identified weakness in my hips that transferred into my legs and ultimately my run. I was given workouts for each session that I still use. I was taught how to stretch properly, given warm ups and warm downs which I was not being taught previously. I firmly believe these exercises are keeping me from injury. They are as valuable as any life skill.”
"Lisa gave him his confidence back. Once he saw that the methods you introduced were providing results he became committed to using them and that’s when he started to see a change in the way he ran but also how he felt about running. when we go to watch him play rugby now we can’t believe it’s the same kid. We used to spot him on the field by his unusual run but we can’t do that anymore! Now we look at each other and say, is that our kid?!"
"Coach Landrum created a comfortable environment as she encouraged and supported us. She assisted us to become physically better runners through strength and variety in runs, but she also took the time to help us with the mental part of running. She made time for every individual, which we are extremely grateful to her for!
“Adam is an exceptional coach who has aided in my understanding of running as a whole. He has transformed my life with all of his knowledge and has taught me much about the sport of running when I didn’t have much to begin with. I’m very grateful to have been coached by Adam and I wouldn’t have been able to shave minutes off my time without his guidance.”
"Being a part of Forward Motion has truly been everything I could've asked for, and more. From unique workouts, to individual coaching on proper form and strength training, FMXC has helped me grow into a much stronger runner physically, and mentally. Coach Lisa has created a positive, fun and motivating environment at practice that I look forward to every week. I am proud to say I am part of the FMXC family!"
"Although my freshman daughter says she still doesn’t “love” running, as her mom I have seen a huge change in her emotional state. Remote learning has been really hard on her. Her mood is always so much more positive on her cross country days. It has been a true life saver for her and myself. Watching her being able to interact and just simply being away from a screen has truly meant the world to us. Thank you for helping a girl who was opposed to running find it something she now looks forward to. We appreciate your constant love and concern for all of the kids."
"Being in Forward Motion has been such an amazing experience. Coach Lisa has worked me to reach my greatest potential and is always pushing me to be the best I can be. FMXC motivates me to be a better runner and to give my all during every single workout. Everyday I look forward to coming to FMXC- being apart of an amazing team and becoming a better runner!"
"Forward Motion XC truly helped my daughter prepare for Cross Country season. Lisa Landrum is an excellent coach and shares her love of running and wealth of knowledge with growing athletes. Whether they are are getting ready to compete or exercising for fun, Lisa encourages everyone and helps them achieve their personal goal!"

"FMXC has been an amazing experience for our son. He returns to us from each practice saying, “It was great!” (while I’m sure I’d be crawling home). Coach Lisa is an encourager and a knowledgeable runner herself, which has helped our son grow in skills he needs to progress in a lifelong sport. I love how he has enjoyed the process.
"FMXC was such an amazing experience! Coach Landrum helped me with my running form and other running strategies more than any other coach has in my life. It was such a great and empowering group to come to after a stressful day at school and I looked forward to it throughout the day. Aside from it being a great workout, it was also such an amazing support group. The skills I learned at FMXC improved my times so much during the Cross Country season this year and after the season I found myself actually enjoying my runs, rather than just feeling obligated to do them. I highly recommend FMXC to absolutely anyone!!"
FMXC rekindled my love for running. Coach Landrum pushed me every day to spend one more minute doing a plank, do one more hill, or push it a little faster during the speed work. Even though practice was only twice a week, I grew more as a runner during FMXC than I ever have.
"I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Coach Lisa. Her passion for running, training runners, motivating runners, and connecting the CLT running community is the driving force that makes her so amazing. Not only is she an avid runner herself, but her desire to share her love of running with others and help train them for greatness is like no other. She takes the time to get to know each runner individually and connects with them on their level in an effort to help them grow and train specifically for their goals."
In December of 2020 our daughter decided she wanted to run Cross Country. She nor we knew nothing about distance running. We were blessed to me Adam Jones. Adam listened to Maylyn’s goal that she wanted to run it college. Since she had never ran before, this was a stretch because she was a Junior in High School and we lived nowhere close to Adam. Therefore all her training would have to be done by written weekly emails. Adam wrote detailed plans for each weekday and sent them to her on Sundays. Maylyn followed his plans exactly as he wrote them. I am happy to say that 12 months later she has signed her letter of commitment to run in the college of her choice! She definitely could not have achieved this without Adam's coaching.
I was in a running slump for about 8 months. I tried many different training schedules—none of which got me back into the groove of running. Eventually, I started working with Lisa and finally enjoyed running again. She created a personalized training schedule for me and strength workouts to prevent injury. When we met on the track, Lisa coached me on my form and showed me exercises to strengthen my legs. After one short month, I love to run again!"
