Alex Johnson

Founder / Running & Strength Coach

Alex tapped into running as a reminder that movement is a privilege: it’s way to demonstrate her power and strength.

After 11 years of teaching special education, Alex took her love of people, advocacy and need for self-care into the running industry where she currently serves as a Race Director.

Alex has run one full marathon, and countless races of half marathon distance and under. Through all of her training, she has found the joy in slowing down to speed up.

Experience

Alex tapped into running as a reminder that movement is a privilege: it’s way to demonstrate her power and strength.

After 11 years of teaching special education, Alex took her love of people, advocacy and need for self-care into the running industry where she currently serves as a Race Director.

Alex has run one full marathon, and countless races of half marathon distance and under. Through all of her training, she has found the joy in slowing down to speed up.

Her philosophy is that running should challenge you but never be a chore. Within running, she has learned a lot of lessons are transferable to her life; one of the most important is that having patience and grace with yourself will take you farther than you have ever imagined.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating pizza, being a Parkinson’s Champion for her dad and loving on her dog, Garnett (who doesn’t like running more than a mile)
